Event Details

After much planning, the first meeting of the San Diego chapter of the Social Media Club is confirmed.

Our guest speaker is Ron Ploof - www.ronamok.com - Ron is an absolute expert in understanding the relationship between people and technology. He's going to be a fun speaker.

His research has resulted in the following seven principles:

  1. It’s not about the technology; it’s what people do with technology that counts
  2. Customers and prospects prefer dialog to diatribe
  3. In the post-Gutenberg economy, where everyone can own a printing press, New Media technologies are turning traditional business practices upside down
  4. In the post-Gutenberg economy, writing for search beats writing for broadcast
  5. Companies must become their own publishers
  6. Content creation is a vital part of the new organization
  7. Storytelling is a vital business skill. Humor doesn’t hurt either

The event will be held from 6:30PM to 8:00PM on Thursday November, 13th from 630PM - 800PM. Digital Telepathy (http://www.dtelepathy.com/) has graciously offered to be our host for the evening.

Please arrive a bit early to park (it's free downtown after 6), and get signed in.

Fees - It is an optional donation of $10.

See you all there!

Sam.

PS: The hashtag for the event will be #SMCSD

If you understand social media, share your understanding with others. Don’t just horde it all to yourself as if we still lived in a world where keeping knowledge within a given SILO was the smart thing to do. Help yourself grow your reputation, your influence and your expertise by sharing what you know with others.
